When I train with Melissa she helps me set and achieve my goals. When I first started training with her, I didn’t know what to expect. For my second fitness competition I started training with her and thought she would set me up with a workout routine and a diet and I would see her every once in a while. Little did I know after our first initial meeting that she was going to be texting me and calling me periodically to check in with me. The first week I worked with her I was pleasantly surprised that she texted me to see how my diet/progress was going. With Melissa guiding me every step of the way, I felt the support and encouragement I needed for my dieting and training.
There are so many qualities as a trainer that I love about Melissa! Just to name a few… She keeps me accountable and emails me with diets and workouts. I love that she is showing me the right way to train and new exercises.
The changes I’ve noticed about myself since I’ve been training with Melissa are that I am conscious of what I eat and more knowledgeable about nutrition. I am stronger now and I know what I need to do to get my body to change the way I want it to.
Melissa is so knowledgeable about nutrition! I was shocked when we started to talk about my diet! It’s amazing to me that some of the things I was eating were actually stopping me from losing weight! She has helped me so much with my weight loss goals! I advise everyone to see her about nutrition even if you don’t work out. You’ll be amazed.
Melissa puts SO much into preparing for each and every training session that results are almost automatic. She does this through “smart training!” She truly listens to what I want, and she tailors each workout to help get me there.
She teaches you to go heavy or go home! I’ve learned SO MUCH from her over the last year and a half, and I keep learning from her. Most of all, I’ve learned that looking the way I want to look is not going to come from using 8# weights 3 times a week. I’ve watched other trainers in other gyms, and observed so many of them going through the motions of a workout that really are not geared for dramatic results. Melissa does all the prep work – all you have to do is lift some weight.
The changes I have noticed the most since I have been training with Melissa is DELTS BABY!!!! Well, that’s what OTHER people have noticed the most about me and the reason for that is that I’ve finally gained the confidence to be able to wear sleeveless shirts and my delts “pop.”
Also, my legs are my problem area (as they are for MANY women) and through slow and steady, consistent heavy weight work, my legs ARE re-shaping.
Melissa has really help me with my diet and weight loss goals! First, she offers a few, small tips on healthier eats. Then, she has your track your food intake to look at not only calories, but macronutrients and timing of the food. Then, slowly, before you know it, you are happily eating more chicken, asparagus, and home made green (i.e. veggie) smoothie drinks than you ever thought possible – and LOVING it! Melissa is a “steel magnolia” – quiet, genuine, soft spoken, but packs a punch of knowledge that leads you to where you need to be without you even realizing that she’s guided you there!
But the really big change is that I actually DID a figure competition show – ok, 2 of them. And never in my wildest dreams did I think this somewhat overweight, mid-40’s, mother of 3, could change enough to walk on a stage in a competition suit and show a little muscle! That came from Melissa’s dedication and guidance.
I wanted to compete in bodybuilding by the time I was 30 years old and with the help of Melissa, it was possible! She keeps you motivated and gives her 110% every session. She prepares every workout and diet to fit your personal needs. There is no “cookie cutter” program with her! Since training with Melissa I have a developed a leaner more muscular look. She did my diet for my two bodybuilding shows. My diet did 360-degree turn! I now keep a clean diet with a cheat on Saturdays. My weight doesn’t move much but the way I look is 100% better!
Melissa’s approach to improving my health and body was just what I needed. Since working with Melissa I have been able to get off of all my medications. She created a workout designed to suit my body and health. My husband is also a fan of Melissa’s because he has seen the ways she has helped me physically, mentally, and also likes my new sculpted body.
The Changes in my physical appearance at 53 years old are really impressive and that has boosted my confidence. I have learned how to make my overall lifestyle healthier and I can’t thank her enough!
Melissa is absolutely committed to every one of her client’s. Working out with her has motivated me so much that I wanted to take my fitness to the next level and began preparing for a figure competition. I never thought at age 53 that it would ever be possible. I have now competed in over 6 NPC Figure shows all in my 50’s!
When I started training with Melissa about one year ago, it had been a very long time since I had worked out or lifted, and it showed. With Melissa’s guidance, encouragement and support, I have come farther in a year than I ever thought was possible. I still have a long way to go until I reach my final goals, but without Melissa’s help, I know I wouldn’t be where I am today.
Melissa’s training helps me keep my routine fresh and interesting. She doesn’t allow me to fall into a rut, and she always challenges me to work harder and try new exercises.
I find that Melissa is not intimidating, which I like. She pushes but does it in a way that is encouraging and supportive. I also like the fact that she is not just “preaching” a healthy lifestyle, but also adheres to one. I like that she provides different tips and strategies for keeping my routine fresh and motivating.
I adhere to the motto “what would Melissa do” when planning my workout and eating plans. When working out on my own, I think a lot about how Melissa would push me, what her expectations of me are, and try to live up to those expectations. I feel not only accountable to myself, but to Melissa – which is one thing that keeps me motivated and pushing myself harder and harder.
I love sharing recipes and eating tips with Melissa! She has helped me so much with my goals in every aspect – from becoming more and more physically fit to thinking about my food choices to just adhering to an overall healthy lifestyle.
When I started training with Melissa a couple years ago I was in ok shape since I have always worked out on my own and with other trainers but still was not happy with the way body looked. So we started twice a week with intense and challenging workouts, advice on my diet, a training schedule for the rest of the week and after of few months, I started to see more muscle definition, lost some weight and feel great for a 52-year-old.
Melissa is always there to guide me while we are training and through email which is awesome. She helps me make good food choices when I am dining out or on vacation. She is truly an inspiration and I value her input on helping me be the best that I can be and the compliments don’t hurt either.
Melissa has truly inspired me to really care about my body. Not just my weight but the way my body feels. I am so much stronger and more confident in the way I move and carry myself. I feel that exercise has become an enjoyable habit because of the workouts that she puts me through. Not only is she very professional during our time together including constantly watching my form and my technique, but she makes the workouts interesting, challenging and might I even say FUN. I think she teaches by example and that makes me trust that whatever she puts before me I can do and accomplish successfully. So I just want to say thank you to Melissa for changing my life and making me feel at 49 yrs old that I am in the best shape that I have ever been in.
Training with Melissa changed my life. I have always been an active person but when I started lifting weights, my body shape totally changed. The muscle tone that I have now gave me a confidence in myself that I never had before. I found that my weight training helped me shift the focus of my personal goals towards being a healthier person instead of just trying to lose 10 pounds all the time. Everything else fell into place once my goals changed. I turned 50 last year and celebrated the new decade because physically I feel that I am in the best shape of my adult life thanks to Melissa and my weight training.
Melissa, first and foremost, cares about her clients and goes the extra mile in trying to help them achieve their goals. She also practices what she preaches. In other words she walks the walk in her exercise program. She is a model of fitness.
