Personal Trainer
I started my fitness journey over 20 years ago, and I have been personal training for the past 15 years as a certified ISSA trainer. It has been over 8 years since I started training in my private studio. Personal Training is my full-time job as well as my passion for helping people reach their fitness and quality of life goals. I remember when I entered a gym for the first time and how intimidated I felt and unsure I was about what exercises I should perform and how to do them correctly. Remembering my initial feelings about working out is the very reason I want to help you feel comfortable and give you the correct tools, and knowledge so you feel confident in a workout setting. I also know that most people need to be motivated and challenged so that they can work up to their potential.

My fitness story began with a training journey that began over 20 years ago, and I have been personal training for the past 15 years as a certified ISSA trainer. I know that working out can be confusing with so much information in the media. It can also be difficult to stay motivated. I am here to teach my clients the proper training techniques, how to stay motivated, and help them reach their full potential.
I was always active growing up and tried just about every sport, but unfortunately, sports never came easy to me and I was not athletic. In college, I stayed in shape by dancing with the dance team at athletic events. After my 2nd year in college, I was not happy with the way I looked. I realized that I had to start making some changes. My brother, Vic invited me to a gym to teach me how to lift weights. Believe it or not, I have never stopped lifting after that first day at the gym. I wanted to transform my body and realized that I could do this by lifting weights properly. I began to see results and it motivated me to continue. I gained a lot of confidence through lifting and discovered a new passion in my life!
My biggest miscalculation in the first few years of lifting weights was that I thought strength training and doing cardio were enough to get the physique I wanted. I could not have been more mistaken! I was missing a very important component which was DIET! I grew up with some of the worst eating habits and I had no idea what healthy eating even was. I thought that starting the day with a bowl of cereal, eating a fat-free bologna sandwich for lunch, and noodles for dinner was healthy. I was around a lot of junk food and family gatherings were centered around food. Once I discovered the importance of eating a diet high in protein along with natural whole foods I began to see the results I was aiming for!
I took my passion for fitness to the next level by competing in 10 plus NPC Figure shows and recently competed in the NPC Division “Physique”. Currently, I am no longer actively competing. My goal is to maintain a healthy well-rounded lifestyle. I enjoy cardio and lifting weights 6 times a week. I must watch my diet very carefully and pre-plan my meals. I definitely practice what I preach daily! I rarely ever miss a workout and you can catch me every morning doing cardio or strength training.
Training intensely over the past 20 years has begun to catch up with me. I am now taking a more balanced approach and giving my body more time to recover, which it needs as I am getting older. I find that strength training 4x a week tends to work best for me.
I also do cardio 5-6x a week for about 30 minutes to an hour. Due to a back injury I am unable to continue to run so I like to use the elliptical, stair master, as well as my spin bike. In the summer, though, road biking continues to be my favorite.

Workout 4: Shoulders/Back
I add in Ab’s once a week
